Newly crowned LET winner Ana Pel\u00e1ez cannot wait to return to the competition where she made her professional debut last year.\u00a0The Spanish rising star turned professional and made her bow in the Aramco Team Series \u2013 Sotogrande last August where she finished T42 in the Individual competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After winning the Madrid Ladies Open last week, Pel\u00e1ez<\/a> admitted it was a \u2018no-brainer\u2019 to fly and tee it up in the Aramco Team Series \u2013 Bangkok at Thai Country Club:\u00a0\u201cThe experience in Sotogrande was great last year, I had a great team and having my family and my team there gave me that taste of what the golfing world was like,\u201d said the 2015 PING Junior Solheim Cup player.\u00a0It took me about five minutes to make the decision. I had to make sure I could get all the paperwork in place but here I am. It was a no-brainer to come here though, I love Aramco Team Series tournaments!\u201d<\/p>\n

There has been a slight tweak to the format for 2022 with the Individual competition still being 54 holes, but the Team event will now be 36 holes.<\/p>\n

The Team winners will be crowned at the conclusion of the second round and there will be a cut to the top-60 professionals and ties for the final round of the Individual competition on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Pel\u00e1ez was chosen by Solheim Cup stalwart Caroline Hedwall to be part of her team and they will also be joined by France\u2019s Manon Gidali and Indian amateur Lalit Kumar Gupta.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy captain is Caroline Hedwall, I\u2019m looking forward to winning again,\u201d she continued. \u201cI love winning, that\u2019s what I play for so hopefully we can get the win this week as a Team and hopefully Individual as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m super-curious about anything in Caroline\u2019s career, I find her such an interesting player and I\u2019m super-excited to be in her team, I\u2019m also really thankful that she picked me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love the format. It reminds me of college where you\u2019re playing for a team but at the same time, you\u2019re playing for yourself. It\u2019s a mix where you want to be competitive against all the players but at the same time you have a team.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are 78 professionals and 26 teams competing this week with five Thai players in the field\u00a0including Major winners Patty Tavatanakit \u2013 who is number 13 in the Rolex Women\u2019s World Golf Rankings \u2013 and Ariya Jutanugarn, two-time LPGA Tour winner Moriya Jutanugarn plus Chanoknan Angurasaranee and Chonlada Chayanun.<\/p>\n

Order of Merit winners Trish Johnson, Charley Hull and Lee-Anne Pace are in attendance as is Major winner and two-time Solheim Cup winning captain Catriona Matthew, plus Solheim Cup players Anne Van Dam, Caroline Hedwall, Becky Brewerton, Florentyna Parker and Linda Wessberg.<\/p>\n

Marianne Skarpnord, who won the Individual event at the 2021 Aramco Team Series \u2013 London, tees it up in the format once again as is Argentina\u2019s Magdalena Simmermacher, who is second in the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol<\/a>.<\/p>\n
