Many of you have asked me about the MTDG Ladies Tournament in Mondariz. Such has been the success that the organization of Mis Torneos de Golf has decided to hold another tournament during the December bank holidays. In this case, husbands, friends or various relatives will be welcomed as it will be a mixed tournament. And since Galicia can be rainy for that date, they have opted for the coast of Almería to ensure good weather in order to guarantee fun, good atmosphere and not last good gastronomy. Let’s get to know their proposal.

“If something works: why change it?”. That is the philosophy of MTDG. Thus all their tournaments have a similar format. They have been organizing golf events for six years with some as renowned as the Día de Canarias Tournament, the Las Banderas Tournament or the recently released MTDG Ladies tournament.""

The chosen hotel, to ensure the best comfort is Cabogata Beach, a five stars hotel from the Valnest chain. It is new, inaugurated in July 2022, with spacious rooms, many outdoor areas, lounges, two outdoor swimming pools and one heated indoor pool, a spa and including a select gastronomic offer.

Alborán Golf is a benchmark in the coast of Almeria. Built for the 2005 Mediterranean Games, this 72 par championship has reached its maturity. I can assure you that the course is very fun, it totally changes if you play with or without the wind and allows you to use all the clubs in the bag.

""

There are very demanding holes (especially hole 8, which is quite a challenge) alternated with others that allow you to play more relaxed. In addition, the course rewards you with beautiful views.

Let’s cut to the point, the tournament consists of a 3-night program, with its corresponding dinners on December 8th, 9th and 10th. On Thursday evening, as a welcome and to warm up, a night approach contest with LED balls will be held with some juicy prizes. It’s very fun.

The first round of the tournament is played as a team scramble. In addition, following the Wild West"" theme, very appropriate for the area. There will be a costume contest that will be given to the craziest and funniest style. Do you like to be creative? This is your chance.

On Saturday the competition will be played as individual Stableford. However what will triumph on both days will be Hole 9 and a half. A ham cutter will be waiting for us there and he will be way more accurate than any of the clubs in our bags. Also drinks and fruit will be offered before returning to finish the final half of the course.

The non-playing companions, the smartest in the group, will have access to the spa instead of golf. But in the afternoon, there will be a gin tonic tasting for everyone. In addition, the famous outlet AMIOR Golf will be at our disposal with spectacular offers on clothing and golf equipment from the best brands.

The best comes with the exquisite dinners at night time. The first in a buffet style, the second will be dedicated to the traditional cuisine of Almeria and the last a gala dinner with the prize giving ceremony and a great raffle that includes prizes as golf equipment, all inclusive trips in some of the best golf resorts of Spain. The star prize of the draw will be a 5-night trip for two people to Madeira with green fees, flights and transfers included, courtesy of Viajes Yutravel.""

And if you still have doubts, there is another reason to participate in this experience. The Asociación Golf Hadas de Ayuda a Profesionales will hold its traditional “Gran AGHAP” on Friday 9th, where all members will be able to enjoy a Pro-am with 8 female professionals from the circuit like Patricia Sanz, Noemí Jiménez or Laura Gómez.

Finally, I’ll tell you that, if you’re a fan of Western movies, you should not only attend this event, but also come a day earlier because on Thursday there will be an excursion, transfer included to Fort Bravo, the old movie studios where they filmed Western classics such as “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”, “Trinity is still my Name” or “A Fistful of Dollars”.
