Hometown hero Linn Grant clinched a one-shot victory on a dramatic final day at the 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed. <\/strong>The 24-year-old started the day 11 shots behind fellow Swede Sebastian S\u00f6derberg, who had led from the start of the tournament. <\/strong>Grant fired a bogey-free 65 (-7) on the final day to post the clubhouse lead of 17-under-par at Vasatorps Golfklubb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In what was an afternoon full of testing conditions, S\u00f6derberg had a one-shot lead heading into the last but made a double bogey meaning Grant was champion again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have very mixed emotions,\u201d said Grant, who had been warming up on the range in case of a playoff. \u201cLike I said before, I feel honestly terrible for Sebastian at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even have words for it. I can\u2019t imagine how he feels. At the same time, I\u2019m so surprised standing here as a winner again, in my hometown. It\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I just tried to go out today and give myself the opportunity. I didn\u2019t think about the chance of winning \u2013 11 shots is a huge gap. I just wanted to go out, have fun, make as many birdies as possible and enjoy it with my brother on the bag and being at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe abrupt finish of the tournament was just different. It\u2019s my first time experiencing a win like that. It hasn\u2019t really sunk in yet. I\u2019m so speechless. I can\u2019t really believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grant<\/a> made history in 2022 becoming the first woman to win on the DP World Tour<\/strong> and has now become the first woman to win twice.<\/p>\n

The Solheim Cup star made back-to-back birdies on holes two and three, holes five and six, and holes nine and ten.<\/p>\n

Her final birdie of the day came at the last when Grant chipped in from the rough and that ultimately was the shot that won her sixth LET title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe shot from the fairway wasn\u2019t ideal,\u201d Grant continued. \u201cI was standing over the chip thinking it would be really cool to hole it. I played really well on the back nine but didn\u2019t have many opportunities to make birdies.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was more difficult out there with the wind on the back nine. I knew it would be tougher to make birdies and hit it close. But I think I did a good job.<\/p>\n

\u201c[On 18] Unbelievable. I think I celebrated good enough on 18 when I was there, so I\u2019m not looking back at that wishing it was me in the last group. It turned out to be an incredible day.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust having an event so close, playing in Sweden, I will always love coming back here and playing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scotland\u2019s Calum Hill produced a final round of 69 (-3) to finish in a share of second place alongside Sweden\u2019s S\u00f6derberg on 16-under-par.<\/p>\n

LET winner Johanna Gustavsson was joined by English duo Alex Fitzpatrick and Andy Sullivan in a tie for fourth place on 13-under-par.<\/p>\n

Five players finished in a share of seventh place with Denmark\u2019s Nicole Broch Estrup<\/strong>, France\u2019s Nastasia Nadaud, Frenchman Ugo Caoussaud<\/strong>, Spain\u2019s Nacho Elvira<\/strong> and Sweden\u2019s Jens Dantorp<\/strong> all on 12-under-par.<\/p>\n

In the LET Order of Merit<\/strong><\/a>, Grant jumps up from 123rd<\/sup> in the rankings to sixth place and has 785.50 points to her name.<\/p>\n

Broch Estrup has moved up a couple of places going from tenth to eighth with 721.50 points after her top-10 finish.<\/p>\n

While Gustavsson has also climbed the rankings from 28th<\/sup> and now sits in 12th<\/sup> place with 594.34 points.<\/p>\n

Next up on the LET is a trip to Italy for the Ladies Italian Open which is taking place at Golf Nazionale from June 14-16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
