Marta Martin fired an exceptional 63 (-9) on the final day of the 2024 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open to win by four strokes. <\/strong>The Spanish star had produced rounds of 69 and 67 on the first two days to sit in a share of second place after 36 holes at Royal Beroun Golf Club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martin went on a birdie spree during the final day rolling in seven consecutive birdies on holes five thru 11 which helped her secure victory with a total of 17-under-par.<\/p>\n

It was the Spaniard\u2019s second professional victory and her second in Czechia after winning the Amundi Czech Ladies Challenge on the LET Access Series<\/strong> in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very very happy! Czech has a special thing for me,\u201d said the Spanish star. \u201cIt was a phenomenal round out there with many birdies and I really enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe crowd were wonderful people and I\u2019m really happy and thankful for everybody that came out. Of course, I am always happy to come to Czechia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martin got off to a hot start making a birdie on her second hole before rolling in seven consecutively on holes five thru 11.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old then dropped her only shot of the day on the 12th<\/sup> but immediately bounced back a birdie on 13 and rolled in another on 15 to seal her lowest ever round on the LET of nine-under-par.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI made seven birdies in a row, and I just kept hitting good shots and they ended up very close and I kept making putts. It was really fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was pretty consistent this week, I didn\u2019t really miss many shots and my misses were playable and of course, today everything just rolled out. I left the ball very close and rolled in a lot of putts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did a lot of putting preparation, I was struggling in the past couple of events to make birdies. In the last tournaments I just had one or two birdies per round so making 10 birdies today and many in the last few days is always rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n

England\u2019s Rosie Davies finished in second place \u2013 her best ever result on the LET \u2013 after also firing a 63 (-9) on the final day.<\/p>\n

Davies birdied holes one and three before making an eagle on the seventh, she then dropped her only shot of the day on the eighth hole.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old rolled in six birdies on her back nine to secure a 63 and finish with a total of 13-under-par.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s my lowest ever, I\u2019m still a bit shaky after that,\u201d said Davies. \u201cIt was unbelievable, I don\u2019t really know what to say. It was one of those where the hole looked really big, and I just hit it good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been playing really well, I have just not been scoring really well, so this was one of those days where everything went in. I missed the green on 16 so it was a bit of a shock that I was chipping, but I hit a really good chip shot there.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said to my caddie on 17 that I couldn\u2019t feel my arms and he punched me and said can you feel that? I said yeah, I can. We had a bit of a wait on 18 which was good and talked about the football. I\u2019m really pleased with nine-under.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finland\u2019s Ursula Wikstrom, Wales\u2019 Chloe Williams and Sweden\u2019s Caroline Hedwall all finished in a share of third place on 12-under-par.<\/p>\n

It was a good final day for Wikstrom, who fired a round of 66 (-6) which included eight birdies and one double bogey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always enjoy it, it\u2019s a special week to have my son on the bag and have time with him and it always brings a little bit of a different feeling and he\u2019s a good caddie! He\u2019s taking care of me nicely on the golf course,\u201d said the Finn.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy game has been a bit off, things have been okay, but I just haven\u2019t been able to post a good round. It\u2019s quite nice to finally have a better result and be there for the final day and be close to contention. I played today with Sara [Kouskova] and we had all the crowds there and that always makes it nice to play with people following you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Austria\u2019s Emma Spitz ended her week in sixth place on 11-under-par after a final day 67 (-5) with Spain\u2019s Nuria Iturrioz one shot further back on 10-under-par after shooting a 66 (-6).<\/p>\n

Five players finished in a share of eighth place with Slovenia\u2019s Pia Babnik, Finland\u2019s Sanna Nuutinen, South Africa\u2019s Lee-Anne Pace, Spain\u2019s Maria Hernandez and England\u2019s Hannah Screen all on nine-under-par.<\/p>\n

In the 2024 LET Order of Merit, Martin jumps up from 39th<\/sup> to seventh place thanks to her victory and now has 791.95 points while with her sixth-place finish Spitz has moved into 10th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n
