European Captain Suzann \u00a0live on Sky Sports to complete the line up of 12 players who will represent Europe at the 2024 Solheim Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After the conclusion of the AIG Women\u2019s Open at St Andrews saw the qualification window end, Pettersen had to make her final decisions on who would join the eight automatic qualifiers.<\/p>\n

Europe are in search of history and hoping to keep the trophy for the fourth consecutive edition having won in 2019 and 2021, as well as tying in Spain in 2023 to retain the trophy last time out.<\/p>\n

There will be a second rookie on the European Team with Switzerland\u2019s Albane Valenzuela<\/strong> chosen to play in her first Solheim Cup alongside the other rookie in the team Esther Henseleit.<\/p>\n

Valenzuela is joined by Denmark\u2019s Emily Kristine Pedersen, as well as England\u2019s Georgia Hall<\/strong> and Sweden\u2019s Anna Nordqvist as the four captain\u2019s picks who will head to Robert Trent Jones Golf Club from September 13-15.<\/p>\n

It will be a fifth consecutive Solheim Cup appearance for England\u2019s Hall, who is a two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour (LET).<\/p>\n

\u201cI love being part of Team Europe, this will be my fifth Solheim Cup and it\u2019s always great to be able to represent Europe,\u201d said Hall.<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning the last three and being part of that, you always want to do it again. I\u2019m happy that Suzann has picked me, and I hope I bring my experience to the U.S. in a few weeks\u2019 time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nordqvist<\/strong> will be playing a vice-captain once again, after being in that role in 2023, and is about to become the most-capped Swede in the competition with nine appearances surpassing Annika S\u00f6renstam, Helen Alfredsson and Sophie Gustafson.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no bigger honour than to represent Europe in the Solheim Cup, so I am very excited to have been picked to play in my ninth Solheim Cup,\u201d commented Nordqvist. \u201cThis is beyond my wildest childhood dreams.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis tournament has meant so much to me and my family over the years and the feeling you get stepping up to the first tee box can\u2019t be described in words. I have enjoyed the dual role as a playing vice-captain the last two years and learning how much work goes into this event behind the scenes and I\u2019m looking forward to teeing it up.\u201d<\/p>\n

This will be a fourth Solheim Cup appearance for Pedersen \u2013 equalling Iben Tinning as the most-capped Dane \u2013 having made her debut in 2017, as well as being part of the team in 2021 and 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very excited to be picked again,\u201d said Pedersen. \u201cI love Solheim, I love team golf and I\u2019m proud to be playing for Europe again!<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always looked up to Suzann and I\u2019m excited to be able to play in the Solheim Cup on American soil once again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valenzuela will be making history in September as she becomes the first player from Switzerland to represent Europe in the Solheim Cup.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old went to LET Q-School in December 2022 with the aim of gaining LET membership to be able to qualify for Team Europe and just over 18 months later she has achieved her dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is absolutely surreal, and a dream come true,\u201d said Valenzuela. \u201cI have dreamt of being in the team ever since I was a kid.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got to play in the PING Junior Solheim Cup, and I had stars in my eyes and I was looking up to these girls and thinking one day that could be me. The fact is has become a reality and now I get to be on that team. I\u2019m ecstatic, I\u2019m proud, I\u2019m happy \u2013 all the emotions!\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about her four picks, captain Pettersen said: \u201cGeorgia has already proved herself to be a very passionate Solheim Cup player with her past experience and she is a player you want on your team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnna has the experience, she has a great record in the Solheim Cup which speaks for itself, and she knows what it takes.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmily is a player that lives and dies for the Solheim Cup. She has a huge passion together with her past experiences, I know what I am getting with Emily. She brings a lot to the team and is a great team player!<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to bring Albane into the team, she has played some solid golf over the last two years and especially this year has proven she\u2019s worthy of a spot on this team. She is a great ball striker and brings a lot of good energy to the team room.\u201d<\/p>\n

The four picks will be joined by England\u2019s Charley Hull<\/strong> and Germany\u2019s Henseleit<\/strong>, who qualified through LET Solheim Cup points, as well as France\u2019s Celine Boutier,<\/strong> Ireland\u2019s Leona Maguire<\/strong>, Spain\u2019s Carlota Ciganda<\/strong> and Swedish trio Maja Stark<\/strong>, Linn Grant<\/strong> and Madelene Sagstr\u00f6m<\/strong> who secured their spots via the Rolex Women\u2019s World Golf Rankings.<\/p>\n
