{"id":21241,"date":"2024-09-23T10:09:51","date_gmt":"2024-09-23T08:09:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ladiesingolf.com\/?p=21241"},"modified":"2024-09-23T10:10:15","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T08:10:15","slug":"brilliant-briem-secures-maiden-let-title-at-la-sella-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ladiesingolf.com\/en\/brilliant-briem-secures-maiden-let-title-at-la-sella-open\/","title":{"rendered":"BRILLIANT BRIEM SECURES MAIDEN LET TITLE AT LA SELLA OPEN"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Helen Briem wins her first Ladies European Tour (LET) title<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The German teenager turned professional at the end of July and also has four wins on the LET Access Series this year <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Helen Briem fired a bogey-free final round of 66 (-6) to win the 2024 La Sella Open with a total of 18-under-par and clinch her first victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET).<\/p>\n<p>The German teenager began the day as the 54-hole leader and got off to a good start at La Sella Golf Resort making a birdie on her first hole.<\/p>\n<p>Briem, who is a four-time winner on the LET Access Series (LETAS), continued to impress on a flawless final day with birdies on holes seven and nine, as well as 12 and 15.<\/p>\n<p>With France\u2019s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard only one shot behind the 19-year-old coming down the last, the German star rolled in her sixth birdie of the day on 18 to secure a two-shot victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, I have no words! It\u2019s just incredible, it\u2019s my first event on the LET as a professional and my third overall. I\u2019m just really proud,\u201d said Briem, who had already secured her LET card for 2025 through LETAS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing in a battle like that is what the most fun is. It was a great battle, both on the fairways, on the tees and on the putting green. It was amazing. I\u2019m pretty relaxed all the time, I just tried to maintain that and to have done it at the end, it\u2019s great.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was surprised that I was down as the favourite going into this tournament, I was a little shocked when I found that out after round one but I\u2019m happy to have done it and I\u2019m looking forward to the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was also a flawless final day for Roussin-Bouchard who fired a round of 65 (-7) to finish in outright second place on 16-under-par.<\/p>\n<p>The two-time LET winner also finished second two weeks ago at the KPMG Women\u2019s Irish Open and is delighted to be in a rich vein of form.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is nothing I can really say! I was seven-under, no bogeys, 14-under for the weekend \u2013 it\u2019s not every day that you do that and especially two rounds in a row without a bogey,\u201d said the Frenchwoman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, solid from tee to green and just a perfect dance with my caddie. It\u2019s two weeks in a row because we started working together in Ireland and finished second and then second this week. I\u2019ve spent my days singing very badly and laughing and I had no clue about the scores and we kept it that way until the end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was fun and it was nice to watch. Helen played amazing golf, she has a very complete game and it\u2019s impressive to watch. I did my best while I was having fun \u2013 no regrets!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Czechia\u2019s Sara Kouskova finished her week in third place on 13-under-par after a final round of 68 (-5) .<\/p>\n<p>The result is the best finish Kouskova has had in her two seasons on the LET and she was pleased with her week\u2019s work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very happy,\u201d said the Czech star. \u201cIt\u2019s my best result on the LET so far, it\u2019s been a great week with lots of good shots. Yesterday I was a little nervous at some of the holes, but today I said I wasn\u2019t going to look at any of the leaderboards which is what I did and it was nice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI held up pretty well. I tried to score some more birdies at the end, but I wasn\u2019t too close there and I made some very good par saves. I\u2019m very happy overall, five-under today was a good finish. Happy with what we did here and it\u2019s really nice to see the work we\u2019ve put in over the past weeks has paid off. I\u2019m excited for more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s Ana Pel\u00e1ez Trivino ended the week in fourth place on 11-under-par with Sweden\u2019s Sofie Bringner in fifth on 10-under and Finland\u2019s Ursula Wikstrom sixth on nine-under-par.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-21235 alignleft\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Five players rounded out the top 10 with India\u2019s Pranavi Urs, Spain\u2019s Luna Sobron Galmes, Japan\u2019s Ayako Uehara, Denmark\u2019s Smilla Tarning Soenderby and Italy\u2019s Virginia Elena Carta all in T7 on eight-under-par.<\/p>\n<p>In the LET Order of Merit, Switzerland\u2019s Chiara Tamburlini continues to lead the way with 1,418.44 points followed by England\u2019s Bronte Law and Belgium\u2019s Manon De Roey.<\/p>\n<p>France\u2019s Roussin-Bouchard has moved up the rankings from 12<sup>th<\/sup> to sixth and now has 1,186.68 points to her name.<\/p>\n<p>Next up for the LET is a trip to France for the 2024 edition of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.opendefrancefeminin.fr\"><strong> Lacoste Ladies Open<\/strong> <\/a>de
