LIV Golf today announced Scott O\u2019Neil as new Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective immediately. O\u2019Neil will drive the strategic vision, business operations, and global growth for the league, its 13 teams and roster of world-class golfers, and its efforts to drive positive impact. Greg Norman, who has been instrumental to the launch of LIV Golf as its first CEO and Commissioner, will hand off day-to-day management, but will remain involved with LIV Golf.<\/strong><\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil\u2019s appointment represents the reach of LIV Golf\u2019s early success and positions the league for the next phase of sustained growth as it remains focused on modernizing and supercharging the sport with a first-of-its-kind team competition and experience for the next generation golf fan around the world.<\/p>\n

Prior to being named CEO of LIV Golf, O\u2019Neil served as CEO of Merlin Entertainments, responsible for overseeing the business operations and global growth across its 140+ attractions in 23 countries. Before Merlin, O\u2019Neil served as CEO for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), a portfolio of professional sports, entertainment, and investment properties, where he oversaw more than $2 billion of growth in enterprise value centered on bringing innovation to the industry.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neil has more than 25 years of experience in leading and managing global sports and entertainment brands. With a reputation for innovation, strategic and global brand development and partnerships, and a passion for culture and talent development, O\u2019Neil has stewarded some of the sports and entertainment industry\u2019s most renowned and iconic brands and properties, including the NBA\u2019s New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, the NFL\u2019s Philadelphia Eagles, the NHL\u2019s New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils, and the internationally ranked sports and entertainment arenas, Madison Square Garden and Prudential Center.<\/p>\n
