Australia\u2019s Justice Bosio came out the blocks hot with a bogey free opening round of 67 (-5) at the Santander Golf Tour- Avila. Starting on hole 10, Bosio got off to a steady start of three pars before her first birdie dropped on hole 13 followed by another on 15. At the turn, Bosio kept up the momentum to card another three birdies and finish day one on top of the leaderboard.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking about her round, Bosio said: \u201c<\/em>It was great out there. <\/em>Being bogey free is always nice.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI had a good group out there.\u00a0Corinne and Annika were lovely so<\/em>\u2029<\/em>I felt comfortable out there.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cIt’s nice weather out here in Spain so it was enjoyable.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe course is in pretty good condition. It is not as hilly as last week, so to have a little bit of a flat walk is a welcome change.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Bosio turned professional at the end of last year after a successful amateur career where she reached as high as 48th<\/sup> in the Women\u2019s Amateur Golf Rankings<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last season she also finished T6th as an amateur at the LET\u2019s 2024 Women’s NSW Open.<\/p>\n

\u201cTomorrow will be about doing the same thing that I did today. I want to just have fun, relax and enjoy 18 holes with my group.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Australian is spending her first season competing on Europe and is enjoying the experience so far.<\/p>\n

This is her second event after recording a top 10 finish last week at the Allegria Ladies Open.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>This is only my second week and I’m here until September so I’m here for the full season, which will be good.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cSo far, I\u2019m just enjoying it. Everyone out here is nice and I\u2019m just enjoying exploring all the different countries alongside the golf.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a stacked leaderboard after day one with four players sitting one shot back in second place on four-under-par.<\/p>\n

Spain\u2019s Paz Marfa Sans finished day one as the highest ranked Spaniard.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old carded a bogey free round of four birdies and fourteen pars.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s been a while since I have done a bogey free round. I’ve been playing well the last couple of months, but I just feel like things didn’t click.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI played in the Jabra last week and I felt like things were going to come together but they didn\u2019t. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cThis week I just wanted to enjoy playing in Spain. The weather feels nice and I\u2019m just trying to stay in the game, stay pressing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Playing Naturavila Golf is a walk down memory lane for Marfa Sans who last teed it up here nine years ago as a junior.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s been a while, but when I did the practice run, I remembered it because we played a lot of rounds here because it was match-play,\u00a0so we played 36.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cI remembered it well as soon as I stepped in the course.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Marfa Sans is splitting her season between the LET and LETAS this year and already recorded a top 10 finish at the LETAS season opener, the Terre Blanche Ladies Open.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy season has been going well.\u00a0 I started out and played in Terre Blanche which was a pretty good tournament. I’ve been resting a lot compared to last year. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201c2024 was a tough year with a lot of anxiety on the course, and now that I feel like my swing’s just, you know, freer, it’s more fluid, so I’m just trying to enjoy my time out there because you never know what’s going to happen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Also, on four-under-par, Norway\u2019s Karoline Lund carded six birdies before two consecutive bogeys on the last two holes deprived her of the lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt good out there, it was very steady golf, and I made some putts which was nice.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cI think there’s a lot of opportunities out there, but you must hit good shots here. The wind was a little bit tricky today, but I got a lot of chances out there.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Lund started her season in South Africa on the Sunshine Ladies Tour and made three top 10s but her best result so far on LETAS this season is tied 14th<\/sup> at last week\u2019s Allegria Ladies Open.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/em>The season so far has been a little bit up and down. I have had a good stretch of tournaments in South Africa before I played on LETAS again.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cTomorrow I\u2019m just going to keep hitting good shots and get some opportunities and make more putts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Three other players tied second on four-under-par. These were the Netherland\u2019s Lauren Holmey, Switzerland\u2019s Priscilla Schmid and Iceland\u2019s Andrea Bergsdottir.<\/p>\n

Round Two begins at 8:30am and at the close of play there will be a cut to the top 45 professionals and ties.<\/p>\n
