{"id":23385,"date":"2025-09-27T10:15:27","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T08:15:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ladiesingolf.com\/?p=23385"},"modified":"2025-09-29T10:15:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T08:15:39","slug":"anna-huang-the-rookie-making-history-in-the-let","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ladiesingolf.com\/en\/anna-huang-the-rookie-making-history-in-the-let\/","title":{"rendered":"Anna Huang, the rookie making history in the let"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>Anna Huang wins by two strokes at Golf Barri\u00e8re <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The 16-year-old jumps from 22<sup>nd<\/sup> to ninth in the LET Order of Merit<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Canada\u2019s Anna Huang can now call herself a two-time Ladies European Tour (LET) winner after she secured a two-stroke victory at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.<\/p>\n<p>The 16-year-old rookie won last week\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ladiesingolf.com\/en\/nerveless-16-year-old-anna-huang-win-la-sella-open\/\"><strong>La Sella Open<\/strong> <\/a>and fired a final round of 65 (-6) at Golf Barri\u00e8re to clinch her second victory in two weeks on Tour.<\/p>\n<p>Huang becomes the third player to win back-to-back in 2025 following in the footsteps of England\u2019s Mimi Rhodes and Czechia\u2019s Sara Kouskova.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honestly just so shocked right now! I don\u2019t think I have fully processed my last win and then to win again is just so crazy,\u201d said Huang.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so proud of myself. I never imagined this would ever happen. Firstly, I won last week and then this week, to have two wins in a year is absolutely incredible. I\u2019m just so grateful for everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian star began the day in the lead and started well with birdies at the first and second holes, before making her only bogey of the day on the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Huang rolled in her next birdie on five, adding two more on the eighth and 10<sup>th<\/sup> holes but Germany\u2019s Helen Briem made birdies of her own to draw level and put on the pressure.<\/p>\n<p>However, the LET rookie finished with a flourish making birdies on 16 and 18 to win with a score of 16-under-par and become the first Canadian to win twice on the LET.<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cIt was super fun to play with Helen and we were going back and forth the whole round. I think we were tied until the 16<sup>th<\/sup> hole and it was pretty nerve-wracking. Up until 18 I wasn\u2019t too nervous, which was weird and strange, but the nerves started hitting me when I was hitting my approach shot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to go home and go to China and see some of my family who I haven\u2019t seen in about 10 years. I might also buy myself something nice. I\u2019m going to have the same mindset for the rest of the year and keep working hard because it\u2019s paying off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>South Africa\u2019s Casandra Alexander and Germany\u2019s Briem shared second place on 14-under-par after they both produced rounds of 66 (-5) on the final day in France.<\/p>\n<p>Briem had one bogey and seven birdies on her scorecard as she put the pressure on Huang, and although it wasn\u2019t enough to win the 20-year-old was still proud of herself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf someone told me that I was going to play three rounds quite far under-par \u2013 not just a little bit, I was five-under, four-under and five-under \u2013 it\u2019s a huge step forward,\u201d said Briem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn\u2019t enough and of course, it hurts being second for the third time this year. Overall, I\u2019m really happy and that shows I worked on the right things over the last weeks. We will see what the rest of this season will bring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LET rookie Brianna Navarrosa fired the joint-best round of the week carding a 63 (-8) on the final day in France.<\/p>\n<p>The American made an eagle on her second hole before adding birdies on the fourth, seventh, ninth and 10<sup>th<\/sup> holes.<\/p>\n<p>She dropped a shot on 11 but bounced back with birdies on 13, 15 and 16 to finish in solo fourth place on 11-under-par.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a pretty good start. I wanted to leave it all out on the dancefloor today. I put myself in good spots on the greens and really took my time over the putts,\u201d said Navarrosa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t chase when I didn\u2019t think I had to, that\u2019s one thing I have learned this season is to take it shot by shot which is super clich\u00e9, but I think I did that really well today. I blacked out a bit on the back nine, I played golf and made my putts, and it worked out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Three players finished in a tie for fifth place with India\u2019s Pranavi Urs, Australia\u2019s Kirsten Rudgeley and Italy\u2019s Alessia Nobilio all on 10-under-par.<\/p>\n<p>One shot further back was Spain\u2019s Luna Sobron Galmes in eighth with five players rounding out the top 10 on eight-under-par.<\/p>\n<p>In the<a href=\"https:\/\/ladieseuropeantour.com\/order-of-merit?id=2025&amp;oom=PT\"> LET Order of Merit<\/a>, England\u2019s Rhodes continues to lead the way after a T14 finish in France with Singapore\u2019s Shannon Tan in second and South Africa\u2019s Alexander now up to third place.<\/p>\n<p>Czechia\u2019s Kouskova is fourth with Germany\u2019s Briem up a few places in fifth and two-time LET winner Huang jumps into ninth place with 1,348.43 points to her name.<\/p>\n<p>The LET now has a one-break before heading to India for the Hero Women\u2019s Indian Open, which takes place at DLF Golf and Country Club between 9-12 October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anna Huang wins by two strokes at Golf Barri\u00e8re The 16-year-old jumps from 22nd to ninth in the LET Order of Merit Canada\u2019s Anna Huang can now call herself a two-time Ladies European Tour (LET) winner after she secured a two-stroke victory at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.
