German star wins by seven shots at Evian and earns place in the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Germany\u2019s Helen Briem delivered a commanding performance at the 2026 Jabra Ladies Open de France, cruising to a seven-shot victory at Evian Resort Golf Club to claim her second Ladies European Tour (LET) title.<\/p>\n

The 20-year-old entered the final round with a three-shot lead and never looked under serious threat, producing a composed display to finish at 12-under-par<\/strong>, the largest winning margin recorded on the LET this season.<\/p>\n

Briem in Complete Control at Evian<\/h2>\n

Briem began the final round steadily, opening with six consecutive pars before making her first birdie of the day at the seventh hole. She then took full control of the tournament with a decisive run of birdies, carding four gains between holes 11 and 14 to pull away from the field.<\/p>\n

The victory marks Briem\u2019s second LET title following her breakthrough success at the 2024 La Sella Open and confirms her status as one of Europe\u2019s brightest young stars.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a long time coming,\u201d said Briem. \u201cI\u2019ve had a few chances since my first win, but couldn\u2019t quite get over the line. To win here at Evian is really special. It\u2019s an incredible venue and I\u2019ve had a fantastic week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite her growing lead throughout the final round, Briem remained focused solely on her own game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI honestly didn\u2019t know exactly where I stood. I was just trying to keep making birdies and giving myself opportunities. Once I birdied 11, 12 and 14, things became a lot more comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Major Championship Spot Secured<\/h2>\n

Along with the winner\u2019s trophy, Briem secured a coveted place in the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship<\/strong>, one of the five major championships in women\u2019s golf.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying majors is always a special experience,\u201d she said. \u201cOf course, qualifying for Evian was in the back of my mind, but I knew there would be other opportunities if I didn\u2019t manage it this week. That helped me stay relaxed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The German also praised her father Jochen, who once again served as her caddie during the victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re learning and growing together. Having my dad on the bag and sharing these experiences around the world is something very special. I\u2019m incredibly grateful for his support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trio Share Runner-Up Finish<\/h2>\n

Three players finished tied for second place on five-under-par: Singapore\u2019s Shannon Tan, Wales\u2019 Lydia Hall and Ireland\u2019s Sara Byrne.<\/p>\n

Tan, runner-up at this event in 2025, closed with a two-under-par 69 and reflected on another strong performance despite missed opportunities on the greens.<\/p>\n

\u201cI left a few shots out there this week, especially with some short putts. The positive is that my mid-range putting has improved significantly and I\u2019m seeing progress in my overall game.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Hall, the result marked her best finish of the 2026 LET season and a particularly satisfying performance on a course that has challenged her throughout her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis golf course has tested me mentally for years,\u201d Hall admitted. \u201cThe biggest achievement this week was staying patient, accepting the bad breaks and trusting my game. I\u2019m proud of how I handled myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Byrne also celebrated her best-ever LET result after securing a share of second place.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my highest finish on the LET and my first time playing in the final group. I created plenty of chances today and I\u2019m really proud of how I managed the pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strong Performances Across the Field<\/h2>\n

French players Lois Lau and amateur Alice Kong led the home challenge, finishing tied fifth alongside India\u2019s Avani Prashanth and Norway\u2019s Dorthea Forbrigd.<\/p>\n

A further seven players shared 10th place on three-under-par, including Germany\u2019s Alexandra F\u00f6rsterling, England\u2019s Hannah Screen, Sweden\u2019s Kajsa Arwefj\u00e4ll, Australia\u2019s Stephanie Bunque, Japan\u2019s Ayako Uehara, France\u2019s Ariane Klotz and India\u2019s Diksha Dagar.<\/p>\n

One of the highlights of the final round came from Spain\u2019s Blanca Fern\u00e1ndez, who recorded a spectacular hole-in-one at the par-3 16th hole with a 9-iron from 136 metres.<\/p>\n

LET Order of Merit Update<\/h2>\n

Briem\u2019s victory propels her from 75th to 12th in the Ladies European Tour Order<\/strong> <\/a>of Merit standings, where she now has 600.25 points.<\/p>\n

South Africa\u2019s Casandra Alexander continues to lead the rankings with 1,777.65 points, ahead of France\u2019s Agathe Laisne and Australia\u2019s Kelsey Bennett.<\/p>\n

Next Stop: Dutch Ladies Open<\/h2>\n

The Ladies European Tour now takes a two-week break before returning for the Dutch Ladies Open<\/strong>, scheduled for June 19\u201321 at Goyer Golf & Country Club in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n
