Elsa Svensson claimed her second title of the season on the LET Access Series (LETAS)<\/strong> with a commanding comeback victory at the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open<\/strong> in Spain.<\/p>\n

The Swedish golfer carded a final-round 69 at Gambito Golf Calatayud to finish on 14 under par, overcoming a three-shot overnight deficit to defeat compatriot Johanna Sjursen by three strokes. Svensson secured the \u20ac8,000 winner\u2019s prize after a composed performance on the final day.<\/p>\n

The victory marks Svensson\u2019s second LETAS title of the season, following her success at the PGA Championship of Sweden in June, and strengthens her position in the race for promotion to the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis means a lot to me,\u201d an emotional Svensson said after securing the title. \u201cHonestly, I\u2019m a little bit emotional. I\u2019ve been working really hard, obviously like everyone else, but I\u2019m just speechless. I\u2019m really happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Svensson Strengthens Her Bid for a Ladies European Tour Card<\/h2>\n

The victory at the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open lifts Svensson to fourth in the LET Access Series Order of Merit, putting her in a strong position to secure one of the seven Ladies European Tour cards available for the 2027 season.<\/p>\n

Svensson becomes the second player to record two victories on the LETAS this season, following fellow Swede Moa Svedenskiold.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m so emotional,\u201d Svensson explained. \u201cI feel like this might help me get my card at the end. At the end of the season, there\u2019s more pressure and I\u2019m really glad how I handled it out there with all the pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Swede also highlighted the importance of her support team, particularly her mother, who carried her bag throughout the tournament, and the friends who celebrated with her after the final putt.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe support means everything. My mom was here on the bag caddying, which was nice, and then all my friends came up afterwards and hugged me. That just makes this so much more special,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

A Three-Shot Comeback Seals Victory in Calatayud<\/h2>\n

Svensson began the final round three shots behind overnight leader Johanna Sjursen but wasted little time in reducing the deficit.<\/p>\n

Playing the par-five opening hole, Svensson reached the green in two and converted her opportunity for birdie, while Sjursen dropped a shot after pulling her tee shot left of the fairway.<\/p>\n

Sjursen briefly restored her advantage with a birdie at the fourth, but Svensson responded immediately at the next hole. A further birdie from the Swede at the seventh, combined with a bogey from Sjursen at the ninth, saw Svensson turn with a one-shot lead.<\/p>\n

The momentum shifted repeatedly during a dramatic three-hole stretch from the 10th to the 12th. Sjursen recorded a birdie, double bogey and eagle, while Svensson produced two pars and a birdie to maintain control of the contest.<\/p>\n

Svensson extended her advantage to three shots at the 13th, where she made birdie and Sjursen dropped a shot.<\/p>\n

A bogey at the 16th briefly offered Sjursen an opportunity to mount a late challenge, but another bogey from the Swede at the 17th ended her hopes of catching the eventual champion. Both players finished with bogeys at the 18th.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the final round, Svensson praised the atmosphere in the group and her ability to remain composed under pressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sad that she (Sjursen) didn\u2019t play her best today. But we had a good time, both of us. We laughed, and it was just a good atmosphere in the group, so that helped me to stay calm,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Marina Escobar Dominho Leads the Spanish Challenge<\/h2>\n

Spain\u2019s Marina Escobar Dominho<\/strong> delivered one of the standout performances of the tournament, carding a final-round 71 to finish on nine under par and secure a share of third place.<\/p>\n

She was joined at nine under by Germany\u2019s Theresa De Bochdanovits, who signed for a 68; England\u2019s Bel Wardle, also with a 68; Slovakia\u2019s Michaela Vavrova, with a 69; and Finland\u2019s Anna Backman, who recorded a 70.<\/p>\n

France\u2019s Lauren Holmey and Australia\u2019s Belinda Ji shared eighth place on eight under par after final rounds of 68 and 72 respectively.<\/p>\n

Norway\u2019s Silje Torvund Ohma finished alone in 10th place on seven under, highlighted by an eagle at the par-five seventh.<\/p>\n

England\u2019s Jessica Hall and Thalia Martin, alongside Finland\u2019s Tiia Koivisto, shared 11th place on six under par.<\/p>\n

Spain\u2019s Clara Moyano Reigosa finished in a tie for 14th on five under par, alongside Iceland\u2019s Hulda Gestsdottir, French amateur Alice Kong, Switzerland\u2019s Caroline Sturdza, the United States\u2019 Katherine Schuster and Scotland\u2019s Lorna McClymont.<\/p>\n

LET Access Series Race for 2027 Cards Intensifies<\/h2>\n

With three tournaments remaining in the season, Lauren Holmey continues to lead the LET Access Series Order of Merit and the race for promotion to the Ladies European Tour.<\/p>\n

Switzerland\u2019s Natalie Armbruester occupies second place, followed by Sweden\u2019s Moa Svedenskiold in third. Svensson\u2019s victory moves her into fourth, ahead of England\u2019s Bel Wardle, Czechia\u2019s Tereza Zapletal Kozeluhova and Germany\u2019s Theresa De Bochdanovits, who complete the top seven.<\/p>\n

The seven highest-ranked players at the end of the season will earn Ladies European Tour cards for 2027, making every remaining tournament crucial for those seeking to secure their place among Europe\u2019s leading professional golfers.<\/p>\n

The LET Access Series season continues next week in Portugal with the Super Bock Ladies Open<\/strong>, scheduled to take place in Vidago from 20 to 22 October.<\/p>\n
