<\/p>\nBrave woman, hard worker and full of love, those are the characteristics which best define Nancy. Her big smile being the first thing you see when you arrive at Aloha golf. Her training as a coach, interest for other cultures and service vocation make her a great receptionist. Everyday she arrives at work happy, since she loves what she does. Self-sacrificing mother she is the embodiment of the Spanish saying \u201cquien la sigue la consigue\u201d. She is beautiful inside and outside. Nancy gives off love. Her psychological qualities and helping abilities make life much easier for everyone that passes by Aloha Golf.<\/b><\/p>\n
She arrived to Spain looking for a better future for her newborn. It was the year 2002 when the conditions were favourable, specially for her family which worked in the real estate business. In the years to follow the financial crisis ended up taking out the business and her marriage. These circumstances forced Nancy to take important decisions, as she explains: \u201c When my husband left to return to Argentina I asked my girl if she wanted to go back too, but luckily she said no. Now she is studying in England and she is following her dreams and I am here supporting her.<\/p>\n
Those were not the greatest moments in my life, as Nancy remembers: \u201cWe endured very hard times to which now I am grateful for, because today they define me as a person. Difficulties in life always strengthen your character and make you evolve\u201d.<\/p>\n

It was the time for a change and that is when I arrived at Aloha, as she remembers: \u201cWhen the crisis hit and I was alone, I was forced to take any job I could find. Then Cipriano hired me and I worked in the chiringuito for 4 years. Since for all my life I have been able to develop my skills in organisation, management and problem solving, I decided I needed to take a step further and I trained to become a coach. It was a very beautiful journey hat helped me realise that I needed something different for myself. I took a specialisation in emotional handling and after that I left the chiringuito\u201d.<\/p>\n
My relationship with Aloha didn\u2019t end there though. When I came to say goodbye I learned that one of the receptionist was leaving and I didn\u2019t want to leave the club. I had fallen in love with Aloha, it has a special place in my heart. I had many friends that were members so I tried to get the place. I kept trying and trying and with the help of some guardian angels like the president, it is already 4 years that I have been working at the reception\u201d.<\/p>\n
In her daily routine she takes care of certain operations, such as the daily starts: \u201cOn Tuesdays we organise the day dedicated to the women, on Thursdays the men\u2019s day and also things like the junior competitions. I reply to the telephone during the whole day. The best part of my job is to solve what people need, from a handicap certificate to organising the groups\u201d.<\/p>\n

Her training helps her a lot: \u201c When I see players entering the reception, I already know from their faces if they had played well or not. There are times when I don\u2019t even ask them. We don\u2019t receive many complaints, but for me they are a useful tool. When clients are complaining it is important to check if they are in the right or explain to them how things works even if they are not in agreement. When training to become a coach, you learn to know how the client feels\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nancy doesn\u2019t play yet, but she is not ruling it out in the future: \u201c Watching golf from the outside makes it look like an incredibly demanding sport, specially because we try playing during the employee\u2019s party. For me putting is fine because it is a short and precise shot, but when driving I swing and my ball doesn\u2019t even move from the tee. It seems like something which gets you addicted, I also love watching others enjoy it so much. Definitely I will learn how to play golf because it is a challenge and I love challenges.<\/p>\n
The working environment of the club is impeccable, as Nancy comments: \u201c In Aloha there is much more than just me, there is maintenance who take care of the course perfectly ( in the LET everyone talked great about it ), locker room and restaurant staff, caddie master, we all make a fantastic group. There is also the office, the director, the President, Mar\u00eda, Mari Carmen and Ana who is in charge of all operations and has taught me everything, she is my mentor\u201d.<\/p>\n
There are many anecdotes, as she remembers specially there was one from the last Open: \u201c I went to find Azahara to thank her for the honour of the visit and for representing us in front of the whole world. I love those events, there is not much work to do, because everything gets done the days before, making the tournament days more relaxed. They told me I could go home, but I didn\u2019t want to. We like sticking together when it is time to work\u201d. And that’s how the LET ended, she proudly says: \u201ceverything went perfect\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
