Peratallada:<\/strong> <\/em>
\nSmall medieval village with stone as the unchallenged main architectural caracter of the houses, with multitudes of arches. A recommendation: the ice creams traditionally elaborated by a renowned Italian established in this village, considered the best in the World, is one of its best kept secrets.<\/p>\n

Llafranc:<\/strong> <\/em>
\nA beautiful coastal village, although a bit more touristy. It has marvellous beaches with cristalline water and it\u2019s a great gastronomical option. The one Michellin stared restaurant \u201cCasamar\u201d is a solid bet. Its vistas over the bay further enhance, if that\u2019s even possible, one\u2019s sense of taste. A seasonal cuisine prepared with fresh produce and complete professionality is its seal of approval.<\/p>\n

Girona:<\/strong><\/em>
\nGirona is a city on human scale but with the attractiveness of the great cities. Taking a peaceful stroll through the old town and losing oneself in its laberinthine weave of streets where the cities\u2019 History begins is the best starting place. On our way we\u2019ll find the Cathedral, the Basilica of Sant Feli\u00fa, the Wall and countless gothic and renais-sance buildings. We will also find the Arab Baths and the Jewish Quarter. The houses along the Onyar river are also an icon of Girona and a unique example of this type of houses overhanging a river to be found in Spain and more typically found in other countries in Europe. There are several bridges crossing the river and from each one the colourful hanging houses are perceived differently.

Golf de Pals:<\/strong> <\/em>
\nEstablished in 1966, it is the first golf course on the Costa Brava.
\nLocated in the middle of the Arenals de Mar estate, above dunes covered by an inmense pine forest planted seventy years ago, Golf Platja de Pals was concieved at the beginning of the sixties by Baltasar Parera Vilar and his wife, Rosa Coll Llach, who both provided all the necessary grounds, as well as the development of the first nine holes, the main office and all the machinery initially required for the maintenance.
\nConstruction did not begin until 1964, under the project direction of English architect Fred Hawtree, who from the beginning acted perfectly in tune with the wishes of the Parera-Coll family. The promoters had maximum respect for the environment, to the point they did not allow a single pine to be cut down that had not been personally marked before.
\nThus, during the summer of 1966 the first nine holes of the first golf course on the Costa Brava were inaugurated, and shortly after, in 1968, they began the expansi\u00f3n with a further nine holes till the regulation eighteen were reached, inaugurating them in 1970 hosting the International Amateur Championship of Spain. Two years later Golf Platja hosted the Spanish Open of 1972.
\nSince then it is considered one of the best golf courses in Spain thanks to its careful design and construction and it has hosted several international competitions.<\/p>\n

Golf PGA Catalunya:<\/strong><\/em>
\nPGA Catalunya Resort possesses two magnificent golf courses, Stadium Course, ranked number 1st in Spain, 5th in Continental Europe and is found among the best 100 in the World, and the Tour Course which offers a constant challenge and spectacular holes.<\/p>\n

Stadium Course:<\/strong><\/em>
\nSince it was opened to the public this imposing and spectacular course has been considered one of the best golf courses in Europe, having recently ranked 88th in the World, 3rd in Europe and 1st in Spain. It has hosted a great number of important championships on the European Circuit and is the object of constant praise by profesional players. The beauty of the course can be distracting when facing the numberless hazards as the course makes no concessions to the players, demanding instead their full attention on fairways literally besieged by trees, strategically placed bunkers and lakes they will have to face on seven of the more complicated holes.
\nThis multitude of challenges makes players come back over and over to test their skills.<\/p>\n

\nTour Course<\/strong><\/em>
\nThose who are seeking a challenge with a bit more attainable requirements will find Tour Course to be an equally attractive round, but kinder. Presided over by abundant pines and lakes, it is a shorter and somewhat less difficult course than the Stadium Course, although the design concieved by \u00c1ngel Gallardo and Neil Coles turns it into a an interesting challenge for all sorts of players. The majority of holes are characterised by ample fairways and strategically placed bunkers that do not excessively punish those strokes that don\u2019t quite come out as one would wish, but on the other hand the closeness of the water hazards forces the player to be constantly alert. Without a doubt Tour Course constitutes a more than respectable challenge.
