Spanish golfer Carolina López-Chacarra fires a final-round 68 (-4) to secure a three-shot victory in Belgium, earning qualification for the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open and the AIG Women’s Open.

Spanish golfer Carolina Chacarra claimed her maiden Ladies European Tour (LET) title with an impressive three-shot victory at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium.

The 2026 rookie secured the trophy in only her third LET appearance, becoming the first rookie winner of the season after producing a flawless final-round 68, four under par, to finish the tournament at 12-under.

Starting Sunday two shots behind Australia’s Kelsey Bennett, Chacarra delivered a composed, bogey-free performance at Hulencourt Golf Club to complete a memorable comeback and secure the first professional victory of her LET career.

“The day went great and I’m so happy,” Chacarra said after her victory. “No bogeys, some nice birdies — everything was great. My caddie, Ivan, talked at the beginning of the round about sticking to my process. We gave ourselves lots of chances on the back nine.”

The Spaniard admitted that nerves played a part during the closing holes.

“I was definitely nervous, especially over the last three holes. I had a little bit of adrenaline, so I was telling my caddie we needed to take some metres off the yardage. But it was great. My goal was just to enjoy the week and try to get into the Scottish Open. To win is amazing, and I’m very happy.”

Victory at the Hulencourt Women’s Open has significant implications for Carolina Chacarra’s 2026 season.

The Spanish golfer moves into second place in the Rookie of the Year standings, behind American Anna Morgan, and earns qualification for two major events on the international golf calendar: the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open and the AIG Women’s Open.

The victory also caps an extraordinary period for the Chacarra family. Carolina’s older brother, Eugenio Chacarra, recently claimed back-to-back titles on the DP World Tour, winning both the KLM Open and the Italian Open.

“It’s been a great few weeks,” said Chacarra, who is also competing on the LPGA Tour this season after earning dual status through both qualifying schools in December.

“Life is treating us amazingly. My brother is my inspiration, and seeing him win gave me a lot of momentum to keep going and try to win myself. I’m very happy and super excited for the next month.

“It definitely changes my calendar, but it’s always great to play a Major. I’m very excited and can’t wait to be there.”

A Flawless Final-Round Comeback in Belgium

Carolina Chacarra began her charge with a precise birdie at the par-three second hole before adding another at the par-three fifth.

The Spaniard moved ahead of Bennett after the Australian dropped a shot at the fourth.

On the back nine, Bennett lost another stroke at the 12th after a wayward tee shot found the thick fescue at Hulencourt Golf Club.

Chacarra then produced one of the shots of the day at the par-five 13th, hitting a world-class approach to set up her third birdie and establish a three-shot advantage.

The closing holes provided plenty of drama.

Bennett chipped in for birdie at the 16th to reduce the deficit to a single shot, but Chacarra responded like a champion.

The Spaniard made a crucial birdie at the par-three 17th before two-putting for par on the final hole to seal a commanding three-shot victory.

Kelsey Bennett Finishes Runner-Up as Aditi Ashok Takes Third

Kelsey Bennett closed with a final-round 73 (+1) to secure her second runner-up finish of the season.

The Australian, winner of the Australian Women’s Classic earlier this year, had previously finished one shot behind Anna Huang at the Lalla Meryem Cup in May.

India’s Aditi Ashok finished third on seven-under par after making an impressive return to Ladies European Tour competition.

The Olympian used the tournament as preparation for The Amundi Evian Championship in France and carded a final-round 70 (-2) to secure a top-five finish ahead of the next Major of the season.

Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux and England’s Bronte Law shared fourth place at four-under par. Both LET winners signed for rounds of 70 (-2) on Sunday to record their best results of the 2026 season.

England’s Hannah Screen produced one of the rounds of the day, firing a superb 66 (-6) with her father on the bag to finish sixth on three-under par.

South Africa’s Nadia van der Westhuizen, American Brianna Navarrosa, Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley, India’s Diksha Dagar and Finland’s Noora Komulainen — winner of the previous week’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open — all finished tied for seventh at two-under par.

LET Order of Merit Standings

South Africa’s Casandra Alexander remains at the top of the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit with 1,777.65 points.

France’s Agathe Laisne stays second with 1,518.30 points, while Kelsey Bennett remains third and moves to 1,432.75 points following her runner-up finish in Belgium.

Carolina Chacarra climbs to 24th position after collecting 500 points for her victory.

The Ladies European Tour now heads to the Evian Resort in France for The Amundi Evian Championship, the fourth Major of the season.

Play begins on Thursday, 9 July, at the foot of the French Alps, with Carolina Chacarra arriving at the prestigious championship in outstanding form following the biggest victory of her career.
