The South African golfer secured her second Ladies European Tour title with a three-shot victory at The K Club and strengthened her lead at the top of the Order of Merit

Casandra Alexander produced a dominant performance to win the 2026 KPMG Women’s Irish Open, securing a wire-to-wire victory at The K Club and claiming the second Ladies European Tour title of her career.

The 27-year-old South African began the final round with a healthy advantage but still had to overcome a nervous start before sealing victory. A final-round 70 (-2) on the Palmer South Course gave her a tournament total of 20-under par and a three-shot margin over the chasing pack.

The victory marks Alexander’s first win of the 2026 Ladies European Tour season after recording five runner-up finishes earlier in the year. The result also strengthens her position at the top of the LET Order of Merit, where she has extended her lead to 2,399.98 points.

“I’m really, really excited. This one is very special. I almost feel like the second win is just as important as the first because it proves it wasn’t a fluke,” Alexander said after lifting the trophy.

A Victory Built from the Opening Round

Alexander had controlled the tournament from the very beginning, thanks to outstanding rounds of 63, 66 and 69, including a course-record 63 in the opening round.

However, the final day did not get off to the easiest start. The South African made bogeys on each of her opening two holes, allowing Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall to briefly reduce the gap.

Alexander responded quickly.

Three consecutive birdies at the fifth, sixth and seventh holes restored her advantage and underlined why she had been one of the standout players throughout the week.

Another birdie at the 10th further strengthened her position before a more challenging stretch on the back nine. A 30-minute weather suspension also tested her concentration and momentum.

Following the restart, Alexander produced another crucial birdie at the 15th before closing with three consecutive pars to complete an impressive wire-to-wire victory.

“Golf is a really tough game. When you’re in the final group on the final day, something takes over. I got off to a nervous start, but we steadied the ship with three birdies in a row. I’m really happy with the way I managed the round,” she explained.

The Order of Merit Remains Her Main Goal

The victory in Ireland represents another major step towards one of Casandra Alexander’s biggest objectives for the 2026 season: winning the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit.

“The Order of Merit is goal number one, and the best way to win the Order of Merit is to win golf tournaments. That’s what I’m trying to do,” she said.

Alexander adds this victory to her triumph at the 2025 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open and continues to establish herself as one of the most consistent and competitive players on the Ladies European Tour.

Sara Kouskova Finishes Second

Czech golfer Sara Kouskova produced a strong final round to finish alone in second place at 17-under par.

The two-time LET winner carded a final-round 70 (-2), making four birdies on the back nine to cap off an impressive month following her tied-12th finish at the AIG Women’s Open and 16th place at the PIF London Championship.

“It was such a great week. I love coming back to Ireland, and putting together a good score here was phenomenal. I’m proud of what we did this week. Casandra is a phenomenal player and definitely deserved this win,” said Kouskova.

Noora Komulainen Completes the Podium

Finland’s Noora Komulainen finished third outright after producing an impressive final-round 67 (-5).

The recent Tipsport Czech Ladies Open winner climbed the leaderboard despite battling illness throughout the week.

Meanwhile, home favourite Leona Maguire once again gave the Irish fans plenty to celebrate. Following her outstanding 63 (-9) on Saturday, Maguire closed with a 68 (-4) to share fourth place with Sweden’s Louise Rydqvist, with both players finishing on 15-under par.

Kajsa Arwefjall, Sweden’s Corinne Viden and Moa Folke, New Zealand’s Amelia Garvey and Singapore’s Shannon Tan completed the group tied for sixth place on 13-under par. Tan recorded one of the standout rounds of the final day with a superb 65 (-7).

Next Stop: La Sella Open

Following the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, the stars of the Ladies European Tour will now turn their attention to Spain and the next major event on the calendar: the La Sella Open, which gets underway on September 17.

Before then, several of Europe’s leading players will compete in the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands.

With her victory in Ireland, Casandra Alexander heads into the final stretch of the season as one of the leading forces on the Ladies European Tour and a strong contender to win the 2026 Order of Merit.
