PG Golf & Sport Academy has been created with the objective of becoming one of the best golf academies in the South of Europe. Placed at the Atalaya Driving range and managed by the European Tour ex-player, Peter Gustafsson, it has just begun with the intention of counting with the best professional golfers and of being an attraction to all those willing to improve their golf. Paddle courts, a functional gym and a cafeteria will complete in the future a space that nowadays includes a driving range, chipping area with two different depth bunkers and putting green.

The idea started to shape during the lockdown. Peter Gustafsson, who has been organizing the Setune International Pro Am for four years, thought that it was a good idea to also have a practicing area: “I was thinking that we organize tournaments, events and golf trips, but we do it all from an office. When I learnt that the place was to rent, I thought that it was a good idea to have a place where you could meet golf players every day. As a professional golfer I have always had the aspiration to coach good players, give them advice and share my experience with them,” he explains and goes on: “We want it to be the best golf and sports academy in the South of Europe. We have a very good area for golf, but we are going to have also paddle courts, a functional gym and many more facilities. We want to bring other countries national teams to train here during the winter. I would love to have a Master Class with the best experts specialized on the short strokes and putting. Also, of paddle and to have a club fitting. The idea is that any golfer who is in the area on holidays wants to visit us because of our experts.

PG has already two professionals, Alexander and Daniel de Rio, but it is open to any other golf pro who wants to give their lessons or clinics there. The next step will be to create a golf school: “I think that all kids should have the right to try golf if they want to. We are going to talk with the schools and Town Halls also because it is important to do things for young people, it is important for them to practice sports.” He remarks thrilled.
