To sit on their terrace with views of the lake is a pleasure for our senses, either under the sun or delighting in the romantically reflected moonlight.
Restaurante El Lago de Marbella’s concept was created by Paco García with Juanjo Carmona as executive chef and it is one of the key elements of the development of High Gastronomy in Málaga.

Among the qualities that make it unique is the huge labour that has been undertaken to favour and spread the awareness of the most exclusive products in Málaga and Andalucía. Highlights are the introduction to Gourmet Cuisine of Málaga-style suckling goat (chivo lechal malagueño) in the first place and after it payoyo-style suckling goat (chivo lechal payoyo); also olives pickled Álora-style (aceitunas aloreñas) historically present at the beginning of the gastronomic dinner at the restaurant.

Pioneering in Sustainability
El Lago have been groundbreakers giving impulse to the Slow Food movement in Andalucía. In fact, they were the first Gourmet Cuisine restaurant in Andalucía and one of the first in Spain with the good fortune of getting the Kilómetro 0 certification in 2011. This movement demands a high minimum use of locally grown produce. Currently, practically the whole of the products that come to their kitchen are from the local environs.

As impellers of healthy Gourmet Cuisine
El Lago have recently given a turn of the screw with the search for healthful menus. In this sense, they’ve just attained the certification by the nutritional doctor Luis Almagro as healthy. To achieve this the menu has had to meet a series of standards such as: a greater percentage of dishes of vegetable origin as opposed to animal provenance, a preponderance of fish over meat, absence of industrially processed products and a control of the use of salt and sugar.
