Mar Timoner – GOLF EL ROMPIDO

For me, being an ambassador means the possibility of bringing the Solheim flag all around Huelva, even all around Andalucia. We are four ambassadors in Huelva and together we have tried to organize tournaments and promote such a great and wonderful event as the Solheim is. We have tried to attract as many people as possible so that they become golf enthusiasts and follow this sport with the same passion as we, the players, do.

I can contribute with wide broadcasting of women’s golf and of the tournament. I can do my bit to promote golf, women’s golf, taking into account that the Solheim Cup will be held in Andalucia and that it is an international event with a great importance. What we want, all of us that work in this profession, is that more people become golf enthusiasts and that they realise that this is a sport very connected to nature, that it is for families, for friends, very humble, that you compete against the course and that, if you live in Andalucia, you can play every single day of the year.

Rocio Bacedoni Haro – ISLANTILLA GOLF

It is a great honour to be part of this women’s golf promotion of the Solheim Cup 2023. I have always enjoyed sharing and enticing people into the practice of this healthy and interesting sport that I love so much. I’ve been doing this as an amateur player over the years in my club and I am lucky to have been proposed as an ambassador by my club to promote the biggest international women’s golf competition. 

My assignment is to make known and share with all the Islantilla Golf Resort players, my enthusiasm for the celebration of the biggest women’s sport event of the year 2023, held for the first time in Spain, in our Andalusian region. We’ll see the two great teams, the American and the European, like two powerful ships battling to win the most brilliant trophy of women’s golf. The enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy this Great Golf Fiesta with the best professional women golf players in the world, in a historical, unique and exciting atmosphere.

I have to highlight that all the players in my club have been very much involved with me in the promotion of this important event from the beginning. And they have proven it by performing a magnificent Sevillanas dance for the choreography contest and participating in the Ladies Cup Tournament in Islantilla. I want to thank all of them from here for their commitment and collaboration.

I’m sure that step by step, in each club, throughout this assignment, we will create an important and necessary space for women’s golf, at the same time we ease the way for the next generations.

We are already providing with enthusiasm and Luz for this historical event from Huelva and its beautiful golf courses.

Elisabeth Ann Robertson- ISLA CANELA GOLF

It is s huge honour. I worked Ryder Cup For many years with my husband and now the Solheim Cup is such a fantastic ladies competition, as exiting as the Ryder Cup, and to represent my Club is fantastic to be asked to do that and to meet all the other ambassadors in the all of Andalusia and some coming from others parts of Spain is just so heart warming I feel part of the Spanish Culture now in golf and it is really nice to do so. 

I think to try to encourage as many women to play golf as possible specially to encourage young girls to play and to keep playing and sustain from teenagers that will be the best thing that ambassadors can do so that we have a long life for ladies in golf. We must encourage young people and if we can get more children playing in school many games that will be fantastic. 

Marisa Artés Sanchís- BELLAVISTA GOLF 

I’m very proud to be the ambassador from Bellavista for the Solheim Cup 2023. This is a great opportunity to make known to the rest of the world the cultural wealth of Spain, of Andalucia, of the magnificent Málaga province and of such a wonderful course as Finca Cortesin. It is also a wonderful challenge to make golfers and non-golfers participants of the greatest women’s golf event of the world and to achieve the widest participation ever in the Solheim Cup. 

I hope, with the other ambassadors, to mark a before and after in women’s golf and, over the next two years, to entice the highest number of people to Finca Cortesin to support the European team, so that the Solheim Cup 2023 held here in Spain is spoken about all over the world.
