For me it is an immense honour to be able to represent my community, therefore Spain, in the Solheim 2023, for this is such an important event and it has never been held in our country before. I would like everyone to understand what women’s golf championships truly are. Because people usually see men’s golf, but they aren’t used to women’s which is, if possible, even more interesting because it is played with much more passion than men’s golf.

Virginia Moraleda Ávila – Golf Campo de Layos

This is such a happiness, such a big and strong feeling that I love it. Just the thought of participating in this event puts a big smile on my face and makes me think about all the things that I can do. I’m very happy and proud to participate in the Solheim Cup. I want to provide with all my strength and with that I mean to mobilize my course, all the people and courses that I know, the authorities from Toledo, the media, involving everybody in one way or another. I’m getting volunteers for the Solheim Cup from the 88 Golf Damas Layos, them and their husbands. I will do everything that Alicia Garrido asks of me.

 Mari Luz Leal – Club de Golf El Hidalgo 

It is a great honour to represent the women golfers from La Mancha, there aren’t many women that practice and live golf and I’m very proud to represent them. First of all, I’ll provide with all my heart because I think this is one of the most important events for the women’s golf, and I’ll try to imbue all, men and women around me in La Mancha, the importance of such an event as this for Spain and golf, of having the Solheim in Finca Cortesin.

Being ambassador is great. The truth is that I couldn’t imagine, when all this started and I accepted to participate, that it was going to be such an event as we are experiencing here. I’m delighted to be part of this “blue tide”. I think that I can provide the Solheim with the happiness, the enjoyment of golf, but most of all I can make many more people learn about women’s golf, advertise it, so that as many women as possible get hooked on it.

Jean Rosemary Mason Smith- Palomarejos Golf

It was a great honour for me when I was named by my club as the ambassador. The truth is that I love playing golf and I think this is an ideal promotion for golf at this moment because many women play with men, but sometimes they are a bit reluctant to play with us until they realize that we can do it. We are going to prove in 2023, during the Solheim Cup, that women’s golf exists. At this moment, women are all fighting to get a place. I think that our mission now is to promote such an event as the 2023 is going to be. Each one of us, in our clubs, organize tournaments and events. Now, for example, we are organizing the Spanish Organization Against Cancer Tournament and we will be there making the promotion with our flag. Every time that I play a tournament, I take the flag and we take the usual photo to promote the Solheim Cup 2023 as much as possible.
