Nuria Iturrios beats the Lauro Golf record and Mireia Prat triumphs in Basozabal

Los 63 golpes conseguidos por Nuria Iturrios le valieron para lograr el record del Lauro Golf y hacerse con la segunda etapa del Santander Golf Tour.

Nuria Iturrios, with a round of 63, managed to beat the record on Lauro Golf and win the second stage of the Santander Golf Tour.

The golfer from Majorca went out on the second day five above par after a first round affected by jet lag. But once she recovered, she put on a golfing exhibition, playing what she described as an incredible round, with her final card showing nine under par. The resulting score of four under was equalled by the player from Andalusia, Maria Parra, which took them to an exciting play-off on hole 18. Both had two opportunities to win and, in the end, it was Nuria who came out on top after her birdie put pressure on her opponent, who could not sink her putt.

The triumph already achieved by Nuria’s team on the ProAm before this tournament was already a sign of what was about to happen. With her hands on the trophy, the player from the Balearic Islands departed for Morocco and Dubai, where she would also triumph in both tournaments.

On the next stop of the Santander Golf Tour, held at the Real Nuevo Club de San Sebastián Basozabal, it was the Catalan golfer, Mireia Prat, who sealed the title with a final round of three under par, with three birdies and no bogeys, for a global two under par. She went on to say that she felt extremely comfortable on the course and was delighted with her latest triumph. “The putts were the key, together with the approach play on hole. I’ve been in good form since the start of the year, and I’m delighted with this victory”.

Next tournament on this circuit will be 17-19 July at the Club de Golf Escorpión in Valencia.
